Boracay Day 4

After staying at the beach from 7 to 9am, we just spent the day walking along the white beach.  We had lunch at Andok's.  We heard they have sisig, my husband wanted to try it.  Sizzling Sisig for P145 and Bistek Rice P70, extra rice at P12 each and as usual Dokito w/ Rice P42 and Spaghetti P33.  For the dessert we tried Aria's Gelato, Italian Ice Cream.  Variegato Amarena Cherries and Nuttela for P90 each.

Boracay Day 5

It's really nice to go to the beach early in the morning.  My kids enjoys playing a lot.  There are a lot of toys available on the stores along white beach, we bought something for them to play on the sand.

We went to Don Vito Restorante Italiano for our lunch.  I heard it was awarded as Best Restaurant in the Philippines for 2011.  The restaurant looked cozy, the waiter asked us if we wanted to dine outside the restaurant so we can have a beautiful view of the beach while eating.  I decided to eat inside the restaurant so my youngest will not have the chance to easily go outside where the kids are playing.

I wanted to try their Giardinera Pizza, it's an Italian wood-fire brick oven baked pizza topped with tomato sauce, mozarella grilled eggplant, asparagus, bell pepper, zuchini, onions, tomato and fresh basil P410.  I ordered Grilled Island Herb Chicken - A juicy boneless half chicken, specially marinated with herbs (thyme, basil and tarragon) served with mushroom gravy sauce, rice and vegetables P295. Classic Spaghetti with Meatballs. - spaghetti in tomato sauce, served with meatballs made from ground beef meat, mixed with sauteed onions, parsley, garlic and egg P360. For dessert we tried their Tiramisu ala don Vito for P160 and Gelato, Italian Ice Cream for P163 for 4 scoops.

In the afternoon we walked along white beach to see the sunset but it was too cloudy.  We had our henna tattoo, I got mine for P150 and my husband got his tribal henna tattoo for P250.

We went to Rumba's Bar and Restaurant for our dinner. The restaurant is known for their US Angus Beef for P880, their Mango Shake is P110 and Sprite for P60. While waiting for our order, my kids went to try the Ferris Wheel P30 each and wall climbing for P50.

Boracay Day 3

We always go to the beach at 7 in the morning until 9am.  That's the only time of the day my kids play to the beach and enjoy the water.  Only few people go to the beach at that time and less algae/moss.  These green moss thrive along White Beach and they bloom every calm summer months February to May, but die back in the rough seasons June to November.  So I would recommend going to Boracay on rainy season, less people, you can enjoy the promo on hotels (you can stay longer in the island) and you will not see those moss.

After about 2 hours of beach bumming, we went to Jonah's to buy fruit shakes.  It was located in Station 1, along the white beach where you can view Willy's Rock.
Station 1, Beach Front
We ordered Mango Shake and Mango Lemon Shake P95 each and I decided to try their Army Navy Sandwich.  It's ham and egg sandwich bathing in their special cheese sauce.

We are so tired, good thing beside Jonah's there's an alley leading you to Balabag Main Road.  We took a tricycle for P10 each.  We need to change fast so we can have lunch before 12pm.  I always make sure we eat on restaurants before lunch time and dinner time so there will always have available seats for us, I just hate waiting and crowded areas.
I Love Backyard BBQ

Honey Mustard Spareribs P225
The Best Chicken BBQ P200

For dessert, we tried Cafe del Sol's cheese cakes. We tried Strawberry Cheesecake and Mango Cheesecake.  My eldest son who doesn't want to come with us wanted just Andok's for take out, Dokito Frito P42 and their Spaghetti P33.  We went to Budget Mart along D'Mall and bought something to eat and drink while in the hotel.  Everything in Boracay is more expensive, their Yakult is priced at P45.50, softdrinks in can is P28.50.  Pistaschios, Spiced Peanuts and Crunchy Almonds at less P100 each, Gatorade P41.

Boracay Day 2

My husband still needs to work on our first day at Boracay, while the kids are still sleeping... I went to the beach to take a look.  This is how Boracay's Beach looks like before 7am.

I don't feel like going out on our first day, I waited until my husband is done with his work.  He just bought Spaghetti P33 and Longsilog for P67 at Andok's for my son's lunch. We still have the crispy lechon kawali and some rice which we take out from Jonah's and have it for lunch. Then had our dinner at Fishbar.

Station 1, D'Mall
Norwegian Salmon P350
Spaghetti Marinara and Salmon Coquettes P180
Traditional Beer Batter Fish and Chips P330
I like the Norwegian Salmon but I am not too satisfied with the Fish and Chips, the beer batter is too salty for my taste and is too over cooked... and I can taste the oil has been used a couple of times.  The mayo dip and coleslaw is a little blunt but the chips is okay. We were not able to eat all the Croquettes, my husband said it taste okay but the croquettes I used to cook taste far more better than this one.  We tried their Mango Shake for P85.  For dessert we bought Häagen-Dazs Cookies and Cream P680.

Boracay Day 7

This is our last day in Boracay, we went to the beach earlier than usual.  After 2 hous, we went to Lemon i Cafe to have our breakfast.  Our flight is at 4:30pm so we need to leave the hotel at 12pm.  We don't have enough time to buy souvenirs because we still need to pack our things.  At Lemon i Cafe my husband and I just have coffee and the kid's Longanisa Meal - 4 Longanisa, 2 scrumbled egg, plain rice and mixed fruit in light syrup for their breakfast.  We bought their favorite Spaghetti at Andok's for P132.

Station 1, D'Mall

I was able to buy T-shirs for adult 2 for P180 and kids 2 for P150, and some fridge magnets.  I wanted to buy something from Paulo Collection, but I can't fit the clothes because my swim suit is still wet.  My husband bought a cap for P285.  Anyways, there's always a next time!

To get to  Cagban Port we hired a tricycle for P100 and took a motor boat for P75.  We paid Cagban Port Fee P100.  Van from Caticlan to Calibo is P525 and Kalibo International Airport Terminal Fee for P160.  We got a taxi from airport to our house for P320.

Boracay Day 1

We arrived at NAIA Terminal 4 three hours earlier, thought it will take us 2 hours to get there.  We checked in after an hour and paid P800 terminal fee.  We bought snacks at the departure area, Tender Juicy hotdog on buns cost P70 each and club sandwich P70.

At the Kalibo International Airoport, we took a van going to Caticlan at P750 for three persons inclusive of boat transfer from Caticlan Jetty Port to Boracay Island. At Caticlan Jetty Port, we paid Environmental Fee of P150 for 2 adults and Caticlan Jetty Port Fee of  P150 for 3 persons, my youngest son is still free.  From Caticlan Port we took a tricycle to get to our hotel for P100.

We arrived at 7pm and it was raining.  We decided to have our dinner to the nearest restaurant we can find from our hotel.  In front of LSM Square is the Crown Regency Hotel, located at the ground floor of that hotel, you can see the 24 Seven  Mini Mart.  About 2 to 3 stores on the left side of the mini mart is Jonah's Fruitshake and Snack Bar who is famous for their fruit shakes.

Buttered Chicken P190

Crispy Lechon Kawali P300

Pork Sinigang P200
We also ordered their best seller fruit shake, Banana Choco Peanut P110 and my son who loves strawberry ordered Strawberry Banana for P180.  The Pork Sinigang is for sharing, for 3 persons.  It's not as sour and as thick as I want it to be because it doesn't have gabi but still my son who loves sinigang likes it. My son also likes the Buttered Chicken but I can tell they use margarine not butter.

Boracay Trip

There are plenty of friends asking me to post the itinerary of our Boracay vacation.  As requested, I will put in this blog things to bring, accommodation, transportation, food/restaurants and activities in Boracay.  I hope this can help most of them to plan for their future Boracay trip.

AirFare

I was able to avail a seat sale promo at Zest Air, Manila-Kalibo-Manila for only P7,471.20I choose Kalibo over Caticlan because I prefer airbus planes than propeller planes. Kalibo's airport's runway accomodates airbus jet planes, while Caticlan only accomodates small propeller planes. The downside of it is we still need to travel one and a half hour before getting to Caticlan.

Accommodation

I wanted to save more on accommodation so I didn't choose beach front hotels with swimming pools. Located in Station 1,  LSM Square is only 2 minutes walk to the White Beach and 2 meanutes walk to  D'Mall.  I got positive reviews in this hotel and I am able to get pictures of our room.  They don't serve breakfast, anyways there are plenty of restaurants in Boracay that we need to try.  For only P2,300.00/day, fully airconditioned rooms w/ private bath, mini refrigerator, cable tv, hot and cold shower, 24hr standby generator and 24 hour internet connection.

Things To Bring

I always plan ahead to make sure I'll be able to bring everything.  I am starting to buy things we will need.  Since we are going to stay there for 7 days, we need to bring everything so we can save more and just spend most of our budget on food.

Things are a lot more expensive in Boracay so might as well buy these while you are in Manila.  Sun blocks are essential when you are going to the beach and also insect repellent, Nivea Sun Swim and Play P540, Nivea LipGloss SPF10 P80, OFF P125.  The sun and seawater can dry your hair out so use a gentle shampoo and treatment conditioner to keep it moisturized, Dove Nurishing Oil Care Shampoo P110, Dove Daily Treatment Conditioner P145.  The heat of the sun, wind and seawater can also dry your skin so bring something to clean and moisturize your skin, Ponds Facial Scrub P75, Ponds Toner P75, Ponds Spotless white detox P80, Dove Body Wash Beauty Moisture P80.

Good thing my 3 year old son got his flu shot today for P1000, so less worries.  Still, I need to bring some medicines just in case I need one... I won't have to worry where to buy.  Paracetamol for fever and reduction of mild pain, Alnix for allergies, Ceelin, Relestal for colic, Bonamin for byahilo and ventolin nebule for my kids.  And also, Ibuprofen, diatabs, kremils, buscopan, paracetamol for adults.
